Background

“I want to stay a student for the rest of my life,” laughs Karen when asked about her work. She feels that if she ever stops learning, she won’t be able to grow as an artist. Her glass art began as a hobby, making a few “balls.” Soon, it became a full time learning process to create the images inspired by Dale Chihuly and others. She and her husband frequently spend time on San Juan Island where she can reinvent focus and inspiration.
