Background

Emiko Kato was born and educated in the Tokyo area of Japan. Her large dramatic paintings often involve surreal human forms and bold colors - ethereal beings floating in a violent universe of form and hue. She has had several one-person shows in Japan and her paintings have been exhibited in a number of foreign countries as well. She is represented in worldwide private collections in the U.S., Germany, China, and Japan.
